Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Dr Dragan Čović, Meets with Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia in Zagreb

A meeting was held at the Government of the Republic of Croatia between the Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH), Dr Dragan Čović, and Member of the House of Representatives of the PABiH, Darijana Filipović, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman; the Chair of the Committee on Croats Outside the Republic of Croatia in the Croatian Parliament, Zdravka Bušić; the State Secretary of the Central State Office for Croats Outside the Republic of Croatia, Zvonko Milas; and the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Ivan Sabolić.

The attendees discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a particular focus on the obligations arising from the European integration process and the need to maintain the momentum of reform in the upcoming period.

Speaker Čović emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina must continue to fulfil its European obligations and, through internal consensus, create space for resolving issues critical to the country's functionality. On this occasion, Representative Filipović highlighted the importance of the continuous support provided by the Government of the Republic of Croatia in meeting BiH's reform obligations, particularly through technical cooperation and Croatia’s experience in the European Union accession process.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, stressed that Croatia remains committed to strongly supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path. He highlighted the importance of strengthening political dialogue within BiH, advancing reform efforts, implementing joint projects connecting the two countries, and ensuring equality and legitimate representation for all three constituent peoples.

It was assessed that the continuation of institutional dialogue between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia remains essential for strengthening bilateral relations and advancing BiH's European perspective.
