Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH Kemal Ademović meets with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to BiH

The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH), Mr Kemal Ademović, met today with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mr Julian Reilly.

During the meeting, the friendly relations between the two countries were reaffirmed, with emphasis on the continuous support provided by the United Kingdom for reform processes, stability, and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Reilly highlighted that the United Kingdom remains a strong partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina on its Euro-Atlantic path and in the country’s efforts to enhance the rule of law and strengthen democratic institutions.

The interlocutors agreed that an uncompromising fight against corruption and the strengthening of transparency in the work of state institutions are key prerequisites for economic prosperity and retaining young people in the country.

The importance of maintaining peace and constructive dialogue within Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans region was underlined, with the role of the United Kingdom, particularly through support for the Berlin Process, recognised as constructive and valuable.

The meeting also covered the work of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH and the adoption of important European legislation.

Speaker Ademović expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the extensive support provided by the UK Government to Bosnia and Herzegovina through various projects in the economic sector, the improvement of the functioning of institutions at all levels, and in the areas of the rule of law and education.
