Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH Dr Dragan Čović holds a meeting in Zagreb with the Minister of Tourism and Sport of the Government of the Republic of Croatia

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH), Dr Dragan Čović, met today in Zagreb with the Minister of Tourism and Sport of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Mr Tonči Glavina. The meeting was also attended by Ms Darijana Filipović, Member of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on current and planned projects in the fields of tourism and sport, as well as on opportunities for further strengthening the partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia. Both interlocutors emphasised the need to enhance tourism and sporting potential through joint initiatives.

Deputy Speaker Dr Čović underlined that investments in tourism and sport are of strategic importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina and significantly contribute to the economic development of local communities and to further strengthening regional connectivity. He particularly highlighted the importance of cooperation between Croatian sports associations and the improvement of sports infrastructure, which contributes to the empowerment of young people and their active engagement in sports activities and programmes.

Minister Glavina stressed the importance of sharing experiences and best practices in managing tourism and sport resources, including initiatives aimed at reducing seasonality and enhancing the competitiveness of the tourism offer in international markets. He also highlighted the significance of infrastructure projects, networking of sports institutions, and support for projects that enable young people to achieve better sporting development.
